Hi Ben,

sorry to disturb you.
I have the same error and I would like to know if you fixed the problem and how you did.
In my case, I have created a custom List and I have created my ListView to Edit the List Items. I have exported the list from SP2010 and I have imported it in SP2013: when I try to open the view,, to edit an Iem, I have the error.
Please, can you help me?

It appears that all user fields (multi and single) create this problem if they were created without the List="UserInfo" property. The import/export API probably treats them like normal lookup fields.

So if you have already created some fields without the property the solutions is:

Add the property to your caml for the field.
Push updates to that field down using the UI or code.

When you export existing content, you have to give it URLs to the existing content - so you have to use a URL that it will find.

When you import, you'll need to import to somewhere -- often you give the URL to the existing parent for the new content, I think. I found that part somewhat confusing, and wound up modifying my version of the tool to show more information about how to fill in the options, as well as offering some more options.

Hi,

Try to import data from SP2010 SIte Coll to another wich have exactly same Structure( Sites,Webs, Lists...)

But it's impossible to import to an existing List Wich Has Same NAME

We are using Sharepoint 2010

i have created a webpage in my root directory using Sharepoint Designer. example:http://server/custom.aspx

when I try to export this page using SP Content Deployment Wizard, I am unable to see this page. but If I moved this page to /SitePages , now I am able to see that custom.aspx file and I am able to export.

How can I export these pages without putting in /SitePages

Is it possible to export the configuration of sites (eg site structure, lists, views, etc) without the contents, eg when you have sensitive data (documents, list items, blog entries etc) in an environment?

Greetings!

I'm currently preparing to migrate documents from our old SharePoint 2007 servers to our new Sharepoint 2010 Foundation centralized repository. We need to preserve the version history, so your tool is the perfect solution for this.

We've uncommented the SharePoint 2010 assemblies line in the exe.config file on both servers (we ran it three times, once with both commented out, then with SP2010's exe.config assembly lines uncommented in our 2010 server, then with both servers pointing to the 2010 assemblies),

In all three cases we're getting the following error:

FatalError: The version of the package 12.0.10.0 is different from the current version this program supports, 14.0.0.0.

Few of our projects are using SharePoint Content Deployment Wizard by chrisobrien since old days of MOSS 2007. And others use Central Admin Content Deployment Jobs and Path by Microsoft .

Microsoft keeps on updating there out of box feature in SharePoint as usual.

I am starting this discussion for folks here to encourage using the best that could be. I would request everyone to share there views Like :--

My preference : Central Admin Content Deployment Jobs and Path by Microsoft (SharePoint 2010) (Option 1)

Why :

I prefer option 1 because it is something for which I can go back to Microsoft and request for support. I get almost all feature in option 1 , which option 2 gives.

My preference : SharePoint Content Deployment Wizard by chrisobrien (Option 2)

Why :

I prefer option 2 for level of customization it allows , I can control the whole migration process . Option 1 is kind of Black box for us.

Hi,

I have a requirement to export content from site collection A and import in another site collection B. One of the document libraries “Closure Documents” in A has folder a hierarchy like YEAR > MONTH > REGION > DIVISION > LOCATION and finally the list item as the leaf. For example, 2012 > 12 > EAST > SECOND > Boston > Closure_Document_1 (list item). (We have data from 2008 till 2012 in the same hierarchy).

The condition here is, I have to export the entire site content from site collection A. From “Closure Documents”, I should export only 2012 > 01 data. While exporting the entire site content and the document library for January 2012, I am unsure what is the prerequisite required to successfully export and import the data from A to B.

I have tried the following step to take the site content backup successfully. However it failed in the import step.

The step is as follows.

Cmp file creation at the site level – Excluded all the descendants
Cmp file creation at the site level – Include all the descendants
Cmp file creation at the Closure Documents – Exclude all the descendants
Cmp file creation at the Closure Documents – 2012 à 01 – Exclude all the descendants
Cmp file creation at the site level and Close Documents – 2012 à 01 – Include all the descendants

The import step failed with the following error when it was executing the 3^rd cmp file. I am unsure which is the best step to export and import the whole content and the document library “Closure Documents” only for 2012 > January.

Your suggestion will be very helpful.

Hi,

I am exporting SP 2007 content data from one of our production servers using SP Content Deployment Wizard. I gave all the necessary information like Export URL, Export Folder, File Name, other required dropdown values.

When I click on "Finish" in the final step of the Export Wizrd, I am getting the following error.

I have never faced this situation before and it didn't happen in TEST and STAGE. We were able to successfully export and import data.

I am unable to find out, why it is looking for write access to the Z:\Temp \{Guid} folder.

Please suggest how to fix this and continue with exporting the data.

Note: I am not retaining the object identity.

Hello

I have successfully exported a document library, let's call it "StartUp" to a startup.cmp file. Now I'd like to import this cmp file to a different document library called "EndUp" which has the same columns as the StartUp document library except for one column called "Links" (PWA Site). Both document libraries existing in the same website.

Firstly, is this even possible? If yes then what will be the Export and Import Url and any other configuration settings??
