Created Issue: schema change from 2007 to 2010 [12884]

I'm getting an error on the import step with this tool (screenshot attached).

I exported from 2007, with no extra configurations of the tool. it all worked fine and produced 77 .cmp files in our directory, with zero errors/warnings in the log file.

I accessed those .cmp files from my 2010 machine and began the import process into my 2010 environment. I did remember to edit the config file, to uncomment the binding redirect node.

Is there some other step to ensuring that the schema is updated so that a 2007 export can be imported into a 2010 environment?

My current environment details are as below:
SharePoint 2010 SP1
June 2012 CU updated
1 SharePoint server and 1-database server
Export file location is on same sharepoint server on D drive.

We have one web application (http://xyz.tech.com) with 2 site collections, under one site collection (http://xyz.tech.com/ss/default.aspx) we have a sub site (http://xyz.tech.com/ss/department) which is size of 64 GB. When I exported sub site using PowerShell successfully but when I am trying to import this sub site to another site collection (http://xyz.tech.com/sites/process) receiving the above error.
We can only able to import 38 GB out of 64 GB.

I have built an external list in Sharepoint Designer. I formatted some fields using formula. This creates an xsl stylesheet in the page code. But the stylesheet is not exported with the wizard.

I have built an external list with sharepoint designer and added a second, custom Display Form for formatting reasons. This works fine in the original list. However, after the export/import with the wizard, I get an error when I try to start the custom form: "File not found". The first, original form which is automatically added to the list still works well.

I successfully ran the export from the 2007 WFE; when I run the import from the 2010 WFE, I get the attached error. For site URL, I'm using the 2010 site I created for the imported content. For the import web URL, I'm using the URL of the 2007 site from where I exported the content. I HAVE uncommented the necessary BindingRedirect entries in the exe.config file on the 2010 WFE.

Trying to export a SP2010 site running on a 64 bit Win Server 2008 R2 and i get "unable to contact site at address ********, please check the URL.

I am a server admin, farm admin etc., so that is not the problem.

can someone let me know what the problem might be and what the syntax for the "Site URL:" should be please?

You need to run the program as your farm account. Right Click > Run As > Input your Farm Account details. You could also use another account which has the appropriate permissions to the database.

The snytax is = http://sitename/site etc

Tried to import a site that was exported from 2007 to 2010. Fairly basic list with a bunch of views of the data. Export was 11 files worth of data and pointed to the first file. Tried importing to new site and also tried selecting existing blank site.

Getting the following error in event log:

1. Save your MOSS2007 list as template (.stp). And Download it to local machine folder
2. Rename the original .STP to .CAB
3. Extract its manifest.xml to a local folder (lets call it {workingfolder})
4. Search for the ProductVersion element. This should have a value of 3
5. Change its value to 4
6. Repackage the manifest.xml into a .CAB. by using makecab.exe in the C:\Windows\System32 folder
Syntax: makecab.exe {workingfolder}\manifest.xml {workingfolder}\{template-name}.cab
7. Change the generated cabinet's extension from .CAB back to .STP and upload it into the Sp2010 (_catalogs/lt)
8. Create List using this template in SP2010

Moving content between two farms, both are 64bit. Have been able to successfully move content however a specific Picture Library refuses to import with the exception. This is version 2.6beta (can't use 2.7beta due to null exception error for all import).

Have the same problem. Moving a large document library from a SP2003 32bit environment to a 64bit SP2010 server.
Was successful with a smaller library...

Getting errors when trying to import Relationships list that was previously exported from a different site. Have verified that list does not exist on site I'm importing to.

Errors start with "The folder cannot be imported because its parent folder doesn't exist." Then, at the bottom, "A list, survey, discussion board, or document library with the specified title already exists in this Web site. Please choose another title."

Running program as admin, user is a Farm Admin. Getting access an access denied error. It's always the same. I've attached a screenshot of the error. Any advice anyone can offer could be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,

We are facing an issue with deleting the corrupted List.
Scenario :

We had tried to Import ‘Site Collection documents’ library from development Site to another Site using SPContentDeployment wizard with Retain Object ID(to retain GUID while migrarting) box checked. Before they perform Import Original list title has been changed to ‘Site Collection documents_Old’.

Since ‘Site Collection documents’ library will already be present when Publishing site is created, import has failed. But the issue has been a new ‘Site Collection Documents’ library has been partially created (which is corrupted) and when we click it on, it pops up the following error :

List does not exist
The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user.

We tried various options to delete this list through custom code and stsadm commands but didn’t help.

And when creating new Document library- Site Actions -> More options… -> this error pops up

We referred the below article to resolve the issue http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepoint2010general/thread/9eaddeb2-62ad-439a-b571-5d665e638cfe , but it didn’t help us.

Here are other approaches we tried,

We tried to delete that list using SharePoint Designer but we got failed. Because the list doesn’t exist or not showing in the designer.

· We have tried “Forcedeletelist” through command prompt.

· Using PowerShell script.

· We wrote own custom code to delete the list, In the code we accessed list but not able to update it or delete it.
Because “List.Update()” and “List.Delete()” is giving the error “List does not exist”. So in depth we debugged the code we check schema properties for that list.
List.title is only property is updated but other properties not set.

· Using the Third party tool,

Gary Lapointe’s STSADM Extension tool ,

Referring :- http://blog.falchionconsulting.com/index.php/2007/11/delete-list-forget-about-forcedeletelist/. But there is no success.

Please let me know if anybody had faced similar problem and come up with resolution for the issue.
