This release provides:
- Command-line support
- Support for saving of import/export settings to a file (in the Windows Forms app) for later re-use
- An installer
Command-line support is intended to support scenarios where SharePoint content is deployed in an automated way. Site collections, webs, lists/doc libs, list items/files can be selected for deployment. Example scenarios could be:
- automated builds/Continuous Integration
- deployment scripts
- production content deployment
More complete guidance on usage is provided in my blog post at
http://www.sharepointnutsandbolts.com/2009/03/command-line-support-for-content.htmlKnown issues- The installer does not currently prevent installation on non-SharePoint machines. The Wizard must be installed directly on SharePoint servers!
